As longtime lovers of antique furniture, my wife and I cannot recommend R. J. Simpson strongly enough. They perform three distinct services equally well. First, their restoration of antique furniture is museum quality. From gesso to French polish to reconstruction, they can perform every service expertly. Secondly, their ability to craft reproductions is unmatched. Taken with a drum table in the Executive Mansion in Richmond, Virginia, we had them make a perfect replica, including many discussions with the curator in Virginia. They even procured the brass caps on the castors produced by the same factory as the original crafted circa 1800. Thirdly, R. J. Simpson creates fantastic one-of-a-kind furniture in which they blend classical proportions and your imagination. They have delighted us with wooden floor lamps, one-of-a-kind tables to hold antique platters, and a handcrafted buffet, perfectly proportioned for our dining room. Over the past few months we have been packing and putting many of our possessions in storage in preparation for a retirement move to the Texas Hill Country. It was during this time that we each realized how many of the things in our home have been brought back to life by either Sam or Chris.
